Uityyy's Retrocomputing Lab

Jigsaw, my Pentium 166 multiboot machine

Welcome to my retrocomputing lab! I grew up playing with hand-me-down and garage sale computers and as an adult have sought out even older and more unusual computers. This website is a small corner of the internet for me to play show-and-tell, and have something pretty to visit from my old computers.

Having started out in QuickBasic 4.5 on DR DOS 5 with an amber-screen monitor, I found the creation of windowing systems absolutely magical and have collected quite a lot of early GUIs, Linux window managers, and other graphical environments over the years.

Delighted by installing Linux alongside Windows 98 as a teen, I progressed to checking out operating system books from the library and eventually multibooting as many hobby operating systems as possible.

At some point I realized I would probably never find an OS/2 machine at a garage sale but was an adult with access to eBay, and so began the collection of excessive amounts of old gear. More recently I decided I should actually have software to run on all my computers and started collecting office suites and still later web browsers.
