Dollport and Norrisville to Elect Separate Mayors

August 24, 2014

NORRISVILLE - The dolls are preparing for a new election in which Eleanor and Theo's dolls can take part and have decided, after discussion, that Eleanor and Theo's dolls should continue to have their own town. "I ran on a platform of the status quo," said Talley, current president of Dollport, "Dollport is good as it is, so why change? Always before, when new dolls arrived, we have integrated them right away and allowed them to vote and run for office. I see no reason why we should do differently to a whole community of dolls." But Esther, who is planning to run for Mayor of Dollport this year on a platform of popsicle sticks, saw things a little differently. "One doll is one thing. A whole community of doll is another. What we do obviously affects them, so I think they should be allowed to have a part in the elections of offices such as president; wild-life, fish, and game; and the like, but they have been their own city, and I think they should have their own mayor. One mayor for Dollport, one mayor for Norrisville, one president over them both; that is what I propose." Current governor Hubert Edmond suggested that "merging has always been considered the best way of joining two things together. Whatever we do, we must strive for peace, truth, and excellence." After much discussion, the diplomats finally reached an agreement, saying, "Yes, I like your popsicle sticks, and I like your proposal." Two candidates, Gylee and Laura, are now running for the office of Mayor of Norrisville. ¶
